Profoundly shocked by the despicable and criminal terrorist attacks that have taken place this morning in Washington and New York , I whish to assure you Mr. President of my total solidarity in these most tragic moments and ask you to convey to the American people, on behalf of the Portuguese people and in my own name, our most sincere condolences and grief.
